Honey Bee with Honey

Honey Bee with Honey

My story started some 15+ years ago as a mother who was beside herself with worry. My young daughter had spent most of her three tender years in hospital more than out with the complications of asthma. Also covered in excema the poor little thing was dreadfully uncomfortable.

I endured the misery of watching my daughter being pumped full of chemicals and smothered in chemical creams, unable to run and play without gasping for breath and constantly scratching her itchy body.

So well known was my daughter by the medical staff at the hospital they would often greet her with "which bed would you like to sleep in this time?" She knew all their names and would help them out by wandering around when she was able, picking up toys that the babies threw out of their cots! This was the extent of her social life!

One evening when she had finally managed through sheer exhaustion to fall asleep, I picked up a magazine which was lying nearby. Flicking through it, not really reading, just browsing, a headline jumped out at me. I forget the exact words (goodness knows why) but it contained the word asthma and a new treatment that had been successfully trialed at a Swiss clinic.

I read the article eagerly absorbing all the information I could as I wasn't brave enough to sneak the magazine from the ward! It told me that the use of honey and Propolis had proved very beneficial in controlling asthma.

Propolis is a natural antibiotic that honey bees line their hives with to keep it spotlessly clean, traces of it are found in raw honey and beekeepers eat it raw to keep their immune systems healthy.

To keep a long story short I researched more about antioxidant rich honey and discovered Manuka honey. I bought a huge jar from my local health food store and the best Propolis supplements on the market.

When my daughter was next "let out" from hospital I started adding 2 - 3 teaspoons of honey a day into her diet along with the Propolis supplements. I watched her grow stronger every day, the wheezing gradually stopped, her eczema disappeared and I was ecstatic as you can imagine.

My daughter never again went into hospital with asthma and eczema, the medical staff at the asthma clinic were amazed and my daughter is now aged 19 and attends University doing a combined course of Graphic Design and Photography ...and all because of a little insect family called Honey Bees.

The picture I have submitted with this article was taken by my daughter, it is of a little honey bee drinking honey from the finger of a beekeepers daughter. So influenced have I been with these fascinating little creatures I am building my own website dedicated to them and all the benefits of honey.

Bee-Healthy with honey and other bee things

Fantastic photo. And it's completely natural that your daughter would feel a special affinity for those little creatures which have added so much to her life.

I recall recently seeing a TV report where doctors are even treating severe skin injuries and disorders by applying honey directly to the affected area.

My daughter, too, has benefited greatly from bee therapy. By using bee stings she has stimulated her natural immunity to the point that she has been able to completely stop using an expensive drug for juvenile arthritis which she'd been told she'd have to use for the rest of her life.

She's been so fascinated by this that she has learned how to do bee-sting therapy and has been able to help others with various afflictions using this unusual natural remedy.
