Dry Eyes and Vitamin A Supplementation

My dog had severe dry eye, he couldn't open his eyes it was too painful.

The ophthalmologist said he didn't produce enough tears and would need to be on prescription eye gels for the rest of his life. The eye gels did help his eyes, if I skipped a day he would close his eyes and be in pain, however, his health in other ways deteriorated. Later to find out that he was hypothyroid.

Giving him synthetic thyroid meds helped his other health related problems but still if I missed a day of eye meds his eyes were miserable. Later to find out that hypothyroid patients are always Vitamin A deficient!

I removed his eye meds and started supplemented him with Vitamin A Cod Liver Oil and natural beta carotene and he NO LONGER needs eye meds! All he needed was VITAMIN A!

If the body lacks something, it produces symptoms, why not figure out what the body lacks and give it!
